Cancellation, Rescheduling, & Refund Policy
To respect your time and ours, ShiftMax maintains the following policies for all lessons:
Booking Notice
All lessons must be booked at least 48 hours in advance
Cancellations
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled lesson will be eligible for a full refund.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the lesson will not be refunded.
A no-show is treated like a cancellation within 48 hours and will not be eligible for a refund.
Rescheduling
Lessons may be rescheduled without penalty if requested more than 48 hours in advance.
Rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the scheduled lesson are treated as late cancellations and are not eligible for refund.
We appreciate your understanding as we strive to offer a high-quality and consistent experience for every driver.
Refunds
Clients who cancel at least 48 hours in advance will receive a full refund to their original form of payment. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable. Refunds are processed through Stripe and typically take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement. ll refunds are issued minus non-refundable processing fees retained by Stripe.
Terms of Service and Liability Waiver
By booking a lesson with ShiftMax, you agree to the following terms:
Eligibility & Requirements
You are at least 16 years of age and hold a valid U.S. driver’s license, permitting operation of a manual transmission vehicle.
You must be physically and legally able to operate a motor vehicle.
You agree to follow all lawful instructions from the instructor during the lesson.
Lesson Conditions
Lessons begin promptly at the scheduled time. Late arrivals may result in reduced instructional time.
The instructor reserves the right to end a lesson at any time if a driver’s behavior is unsafe or violates terms.
Liability Waiver
By participating in ShiftMax lessons, you acknowledge and accept the risks associated with driving a motor vehicle. You agree to release ShiftMax, its owner(s), and instructors from liability for any injury, accident, loss, or damage that may occur before, during, or after a lesson, except where prohibited by law.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Virginia. You consent to the jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
In the event of a dispute, you agree to first attempt to resolve the matter informally by contacting ShiftMax in writing within 15 days of the issue. If the matter cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to resolve the dispute through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its applicable rules. Arbitration will be held in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Each party shall bear its own legal fees and costs. The arbitrator’s decision will be final and binding.
You agree that any dispute resolution will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. Nothing in this clause shall limit your right to pursue a claim in small claims court if it qualifies.
Payment Terms and Chargebacks
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By booking a lesson, you authorize ShiftMax to charge your selected payment method for the full amount at the time of booking.
You agree not to initiate a chargeback or dispute through your bank or credit card provider without first attempting to resolve the matter directly with ShiftMax. Unauthorized chargebacks will be considered a breach of these Terms.
All lessons are subject to ShiftMax’s Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy.

Code of Conduct
ShiftMax is committed to providing a safe, professional, and respectful learning environment. To ensure the best experience for all clients, the following expectations apply:
Clients are expected to treat the instructor and others with courtesy and respect at all times; clients will receive the same courtesy and respect at all times.
Behavior that includes intimidation, harassment, verbal abuse, threats, or any form of disrespect will not be accepted.
If such behavior occurs, the instructor reserves the right to end the lesson immediately. In these cases, no refund will be provided.
Repeated or serious misconduct may result in refusal of future service.
